    After losing his owner in a house fire, Zach faced the streets alone before coming to our shelter earlier this year. Our veterinary team healed his open wounds, and soon enough, this sweet boy found a loving home. Your support made that second chance possible.

Why We Do This Work

Every single day, donations to Alaska PAWS bring healing, relief, and second chances to dogs and cats across our state.

Through donor-supported services dedicated to providing accessible care for animals in need, our staff and volunteers work tirelessly to treat, support, and rehome pets. These animals receive the love and attention they deserve, thanks to the generosity of people like you.

That is what makes your support so vital. Our donors cover nearly 90% of shelter operating expenses, because the reality is that adoption fees cover only a fraction of the true cost to care for and rehome a pet.
