Why It's Important

Spaying and neutering is about more than just managing pet populations—it is a vital step in breaking down barriers to lifelong health and keeping families together.

By making these procedures accessible and affordable, we reduce the risk of costly health issues and behavioral challenges, ensuring every pet stays healthy, safe, and right where they belong: by your side.

Dental Pricing

We tailor our dental care to what your pet truly needs, meaning pricing varies from case to case. To provide you with a transparent and accurate cost estimate, our vets require a pre-dental exam first.

Other Surgeries We Offer

  • Orthopedic Surgeries

  • Lump & Bump Removal

  • General Surgery

Since care looks different for every pet, we price these procedures based on individual medical needs rather than a flat rate.

Alaska PAWS Financial Policies

Forms of Payment

The Alaska PAWS Clinic operates as part of our nonprofit network.

We work hard to keep our rates low, but our services are not free, and payment is due at the time care is rendered.

We gladly accept cash and most major credit and debit cards (please note there is a 3% convenience fee for card payments).

To keep our operations running smoothly, we do not accept personal checks or CareCredit.

Balance Due at
Day of Services

If there is a balance due when you pick up your pet from the clinic, the balance must be paid in full before your pet can be released.

Desposits for
Clinic Services

To keep our appointments running smoothly, we require a deposit when scheduling.

For spay and neuter procedures, this is the cost of the procedure; for other surgeries and dentals, it is a $100 minimum.

Your veterinarian will give you an estimate beforehand so you can prepare for your visit.

Deposits are non-refundable if you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, and any unclaimed deposits remaining after 90 days are gratefully accepted as a donation to our mission.

Cancelation Policy

It happens to all of us—we realize something is scheduled at the last minute or plans simply change.

If you need to reschedule or cannot make your appointment, please give us at least 24 hours' notice so you don't lose your deposit.

We want to work with you and make sure we aren't holding your deposit on our books any longer than necessary.

Please note that if you miss your appointment without notice, your entire deposit will be forfeited.

Balance Due at
Day of Services

If there is a balance due when you pick up your pet from the clinic, the balance must be paid in full before your pet can be released.

Coupons

We accept limited-service coupons from select community partners.

If you are using a coupon from Friends of Pets or Save Our Seward Pets, please be sure to provide your coupon number when booking your appointment, and bring the physical coupon with you when you check your pet in for surgery.

Accounts with
Open Balances

If your account has an outstanding balance due, you will not be able to receive any services from Alaska PAWS until that balance has been paid in full.
